What do you mean, alpha?

We're not charging. We might wipe out your sites. We're not ready for prime time yet. You'll have to forgive us if we screw up. We are however working very hard to build something special.

Much of it is already open source, and is available from the Git repository. Is it perfect? No. Is it the sum of everything we're working on? No. Can you use it? Yes!

You're working on other things?

While a large percentage of our code base is, and always will be completely open, a portion of it won't be. For example, the open-source version contains a working object store, that is completely functional. However, we're using another implementation in our infrastructure, designed to run on our farm. That said, if you wanted to replace the object store we provide with something else, it shouldn't be very hard.

Another piece of code that is being worked very hard on is the apache integration. Currently the RSP runs on a custom designed web server, that we are phasing out in favour of Apache. That however, will be open source.

What is your schedule to get out of alpha?

Very very soon. We're excited about Reasonably Smart, and we're working day and night to get everything in place to move to beta soon, and then to a full version one shortly after that.
